For this recipe, I split the DME into two batches. One went into cold water, was heated to strike and then had the crystal malt soaked in it. The second was added at the end of the boil. Hard to get the nuance in here. Overall, this came out perhaps a little strong on the fuggle side for my tastes but was definitely woody/earthy. Maybe use 0.5oz at 60 and the remainder at 30 or 15 is how I'd try it a second time.
