Steinbier with superheated 5-12" rip rap. Didn't have enough rocks to sustain the boil continuously for an hour so had periods of extreme roiling then let it drop to 200 before another dunk. Lost a ton of volume - maybe 3 or less gallons into fermenter.
The first time I made this I "dry rocked" it back onto the rocks for 3 days, but that totally overwhelmed what was a great beer with mineral and metallic notes from the rocks.
